LAURELLE JADE FROESE

I love music and I love people. I believe that classical music can hold a unique and powerful place in society to inspire and strengthen others. As the inaugural choral director of Sistema-Toronto, I witnessed how powerful this art form is and it's potential to influence and shape lives for the better.

I'm interested in being involved in meaningful musical projects that facilitate community; as either performer, choral conductor or teacher. As a soloist, I have a particular affinity for operatic and concert repertoire that speaks to and tells of a fantastic story.  I love introducing new works to audiences and communicating beautiful texts and stories that are timeless…sacred, spiritual, humanistic.

as a teacher, it is my goal to provide the tools necessary for each student to better understand their unique gifts as both a singer and musician. through this exploration, we are able to better understand our unique selves and our inherent capacity to communicate and seek out beauty... both musically and personally.

Please visit the Winnipeg Vocal Academy for efforts being made in the Winnipeg Community towards education and performance of vocal music to under-served communities.

My music is the spiritual expression of what I am — my faith, my knowledge, my being...When you begin to see the possibilities of music, you desire to do something really good for people, to help humanity free itself from its hangups...I want to speak to their souls.

-John coltrane

Disclaimer: I love this quote not because I think I'm John Coltrane, but because this is what music does at it's best, no? :)
